The federal government is tabling their first budget in 2 years on April 19th.This is an important budget for many reasons, but not the least for us is that it follows on the announcement of the Active Transportation Fund and the subsequent national engagement that VCB hosted.
Following the budget, I will be participating in a briefing by the Minister of Finance. I will be hosting a update meeting for VCB members on April 20th, at Noon CST. In this meeting we will cover the 6 engagement sessions and what was heard, as well as an update on the budget.
As we head into the summer, where we are hoping to see more Open Streets across the country, bike sales are booming, cycling and active transportation are on everyone's radar, this will be a good chance to hear exactly where we are.
